It's the baseball payoff season and, being in the mood, I decided to dust off Baseball Manager, a little computer baseball game I wrote several years ago, and play a game as manager of the lowly New Orleans Hurricanes against the powerful New York Bombers. The Hurricanes got off to a 3-0 lead early. The Bombers tied it up in the 8th inning then went ahead 4-3 in the top of the tenth. With two outs in the bottom of the tenth, Lefty Caruso of the Hurricanes hit a walk-off, two-run homer and the Hurricanes won the game 5-4 in dramatic fashion. What an exciting game, the more so because the Hurricanes rarely beat the Bombers.
